The Wedding Party
Maid of honoR
Erika Breckon
Hi y'all I am Erika the Maid of Honor. I met Brittany my freshman year of college in Reinert Hall. We were neighbors and we immediately connected over our struggle on finding good food in STL. I mean the girl from Texas and girl from Las Vegas were bound to find each other. We created many memories together including the night that Brittany and John met freshman year during Mardi Gras. Brittany and I then became roommates our Sophomore year and continued to find good food in STL, have dance parties in our dorm, almost buy a dog together, and continue making countless memories. We even formed a innertube water polo team with a few lovely people in this Wedding Party, can't forget to mention that our team Shark Bait did take home a championship win! Brittany and I both continued at SLU in grad programs and even though we weren’t roommates I know I could always count on her. I am excited to be her Maid of Honor and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Brittany and John.

I know John and Brittany pretty well ; considering they live in my parents basement. They can sometimes be quite the nuisance, but most of the time they are bearable. On a more serious note I have seen them grow in love over the time that they have been with my family. I have also seen Brittany seamlessly integrate into our family dynamic and can't wait for another sister. We already bicker like siblings and I think I am her favorite. Brittany's first extended stay with our family was the summer of COVID so we spent a lot of time together as everyone in the house worked except Brittany and I. She was consumed by her studies and even used me as a foot model to tape my foot for her athletic training practicals. I've grown closer with John even through the years of him being away in college. During summer break and now that he is home we have spent a lot of time on projects, like building my fishing Jon boat, re-doing our grandpa's shed and just playing video games. These things may be small but helped build a great relationship with both of them respectively.

Hey all! My name is Sydney and I’m graduating from UC with a bachelor’s in health sciences and looking into PT school! And my name is Paige and I’m going to be a sophomore at UC and majoring in pre-parhmacy. We are both John’s sisters and grew up in Seven Hills together. We used to play walk the plank by the pool, nerf wars in the basement, fake doctors, and bicker over chores… when college hit, John brought Brittany home, and we got another sister! She is perfect for John and we enjoy going shopping with her, and appreciate her helping around the house or any family event going on. Brittany since the beginning has treated us as if we were her own sisters celebrating graduations, birthdays, and holidays with us. We’re also obsessed with their fur-baby Penelope and enjoy playing with her, but she does make you feel bad when you’re eating. It's hard to resist Penelope's sweet face and brown eyes begging. We’re very excited for John and Brittany and can’t wait to see what’s in store for them in the future! Congrats J&B!

John and I met our freshman year of college when we lived on the same floor in Reinert Hall. Having similar interests and names, we quickly became close friends and eventually roommates our junior year of college. John was a groomsman at my wedding he served his role well with sewing a button back on my suit, and assisting with ties and pocket squares for the best look. Brittany also served a role in our wedding as a reader at our mass. I appreciate their help in celebrating my special day and am so excited to be a part of theirs. Since graduating, I have been working at an ophthalmology clinic in St. Louis and am currently in the process of applying to medical school.

I met Brittany our freshman year at SLU in Athletic Training classes and SLUDM. As Brittany would say she despised me initially, but we soon became lab partners and friends as we went through grad school and together we learned how to use a goniometer … probably incorrectly … but we both graduated! We had many nights studying for our practicals utilizing everything from the counter top to the coffee table in place of a plinth. Even though we may have grown close, I was surprised to be asked to be apart of their big day! Although, I put some pieces together when Brittany asked me to coffee and I saw posts of her Bridesmaids popping up on social media; I still couldn't be sure. I am so honored to stand by her side. After graduating I am currently working as an Athletic Trainer with the Men’s Soccer Team at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

I met John during our first week of freshman year when we played cards against humanity with the other members of our Learning Community. Since then, John has become a loyal and close friend as we bonded through study sessions, late nights with friends, and the usual college shenanigans. We’ve been classmates, floor mates, and roommates which means that I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know Brittany and watching their relationship blossom into what it is today. After graduating from Saint Louis University with both John and Brittany, I moved to New Hampshire where I work as a Quality Engineer for a medical device R&D company and go hiking in my free time. I couldn’t be more excited to be sharing in the celebration of their special day.

I met Brittany my junior year of high school and we quickly became close friends. She welcomed me with open arms and embraced my quirkiness. Some of my favorite moments with Brit have been co-captaining our schools basketball team, our road trip to California, working in an abandoned hotel together and our many food dates. I was also the first person to convince Brittany that sushi isn't that bad and she just hadn't had the good kind yet. The next years I spent going to college outside of Boise, Idaho to study Environmental Science. My Senior Year I decided that I wanted something different so I came back home to Las Vegas. I now am a WSET level 2 certified Sommelier and am currently studying for my level 3 certification.

I have known John ever since grade school at Assumption Academy, where he was a year older than me. John and I have grown close over the years serving Mass together, which has been the fundamental building block of our friendship. I am grateful that John asked me to be apart of such a pivotal moment in his life. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of meeting Brittany a handful of times when Wrabel has brought her from sin city to the city of love (Cleveland, OH). I am a recent graduate of The Ohio State University and now work full time down in Columbus, OH.

I've had the honor of knowing Brittany since high school! We actually unintentionally first met at our mutual friend's Bar Mitzvah. But to my surprise, years later Brittany transferred to our high school. We had many shenanigans in high school that will forever be memories from hiking in red rock with our friends, late night food dates (like trying weird foods from the oriental grocery store), and Brittany's selflessness; showing up to my house after I had surgery to celebrate New Year's with me. I was born and raised in the Fabulous Las Vegas, NV which will always be our home. I graduated from UNLV with a finance degree and work full time for a drone company in Las Vegas. A fun fact about me is that this is the first wedding I have ever attended and I am thrilled to be a bridesmaid and apart of John and Brittany's Big Day!

I've known John since grade school, but it was really in high school where we became friends. Waking up to serve Mass at 7am on a school day is not something every teenager always wants to do, but it is where our friendship really took shape. We would continue to serve Mass together, all through college and up to now. It is an honor to be a friend of John and Brittany helping them celebrate their Wedding Day! I work and reside in the Paris of the Midwest: Cleveland, Ohio.

I met Brittany in 2020 when she and Penelope were placed with with me for her Athletic Training clinical rotation at Westminster. Brittany came into her first clinical with complete honesty and made it clear to me that she only chose to do clinical so she could decide whether she wanted to continue pursuing her degree through the accelerated Master's Program or just graduate at the end of her first clinical year with her Bachelor's. Brittany ultimately decided for herself that she was going to stick through the program. I think I might have had an impact on that decision :). We spent almost everyday together working on growing and developing Brittany's AT education and skills. During that time we built a friendship along the way. For me it was a bonus getting to spend every day with Penelope whom I may like more than Brittany.

John and I have known each other since the mid-2000s when we attended Assumption Academy. John was two years younger than me at Assumption. Our friendship grew in high school - we both joined the St. John Berchmans Altar Server Ministry through St. Ignatius HS (though I attended Benedictine HS), and we have served Latin Masses at St. Stephen’s for the last seven years. I am honored to serve John as a groomsman as he and Brittany enter this great Sacrament!
From anonymous roommates to the iconic dynamic duo, Brittany and I have known each other since our University orientation and she has been one of my best friends since. We’ve shared many adventures together and I’m honored to have been present when Brittany first met John and years later after John asked Brittany to marry him. After graduating from Saint Louis University with Brittany and John in 2021, I moved to New York City where I now work for Weill Cornel Medicine as a Research Assistant. This summer, I am beyond excited to stand alongside Brittany and create yet another cherished memory with both Brittany and John.

I have known John since freshman year of college at SLU. We grew close throughout college where I was also able to meet Brittany. I cherish the times we spent together, from trips to Puerto Rico and the Ozark’s, and look forward to celebrating this important day in their lives. Currently, I’m still living in St. Louis finishing up my MBA at SLU while also working fulltime as an account manager at a marketing firm.
John and I lived a few doors down from each other freshmen year of college and quickly became good friends after the first few weeks. Whether it was peer pressuring our friends to go out to party with us or even setting off the fire alarm in our building we always managed to have fun. We shared a lot of experiences together and I’m excited be with him as on his special day. Since graduating, I’ve spent the last year working at an Ophthalmology practice and plan to apply to medical school this year.
